What is a Parish?
A parish “is a certain community of the Christian faithful stably constituted in a particular church [the Diocese], whose pastoral care is entrusted to a pastor [Parish Priest] as its proper pastor under the authority of the diocesan bishop”. It is the way our Bishop organizes the Diocese into smaller units (parishes) that can best serve our local community. The Parish Church is the centre of that parish. It is where the faithful gather each Sunday and during the week, to offer worship to God.
