SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS & VULNERABLE PERSONS

Welcome

We wish to extend a warm welcome to all who are visiting our Diocesan website and who want to know more about how our Church seeks to provide a safe environment for all. We promote a transparent, accountable attitude within a spirit of responsibility and duty of care expected from the Church in Her ministry to those who seek and desire to follow Christ.

The Catholic Church in Gibraltar holds that all children, young persons and vulnerable adults are a wonderful gift from God. Each person enjoys an intrinsic right to dignity of life, respect and security from physical, psychological and emotional harm. They are to be treasured, nurtured and safeguarded by everyone.

We are therefore committed to safeguarding as an integral part of the life and ministry of the Church. We endeavour to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults through the promotion of a sustained and sustainable culture of appropriate vigilance.

Policies

The Diocese has introduced a comprehensive Safeguarding Policy which you can access here. Our Policy is not a static document and will be revised and updated periodically to ensure we can promote the highest of Safeguarding standards at all times.

At present, we are also in the process of developing a wide range of resources. From time to time these will be published and updated on our website. Here, you will find further information which we hope will be of interest to our readers.

Thank you for visiting our website. May our Lady of Europe, Patroness of our Diocese and our Mother, embrace us all under Her maternal care.
