This church began as a simple converted Nissen hut which was acquired by Fr. Bernard Devlin to serve the needs of the the growing population in that area. It was given the status of a Parish in 1974, but not consecrated until 2010 by Bishop Ralph Heskett C.Ss.R. which coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Diocese.
