During the coming weeks, children throughout Gibraltar in the final year of the First Schools, will be making their First Holy Communion in the parishes their schools belong to.
This is an important moment in the young life of a person, when for the first time, they will be receiving the Lord in the Sacred Eucharist. Through this Sacrament, we receive in a mystical way, the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our beloved Lord. How do we know this? Simply and quite literally, because He said so.
It is good for us to recall that Christ taught this doctrine at Capernaum: John 6:52-59
